Why Choose Us?
We provide an opportunity for your child to meet us in their own environment. You will then be invited in for a series of ‘settling in’ visits. Initially we will ask you to stay but once we are confident your child will not become distressed, we will ask you to slowly leave them to build up time away from you gradually until we and you feel they are ready to start. We typically allow a month for settling in.
We believe that good communication between parents and staff is essential, therefore, we encourage you to take a close interest in the day to day actions of the nursery and talk to staff whenever you feel you wish to do so.
The Playaway Philosophy
Playaway Day Nursery is registered to care for and educate 50 children aged from three months to five years. Its philosophy is underpinned through a humanist and socio construtivist approach particularly influenced by Malaguzzi and Vygotsky.
Playaway Day Nursery is child centred, its practcies stemming from children’s right to access the highest quality provision, both in and outdoors in which their individual needs are met holistically, through the key person approach and personalised learning.
The Nursery is fully inclusive, children are integrated across all age ranges at key points in the day, whilst free flow play is implemented for the 2-5 year olds based within the upstairs learning environment and the under two year olds based within the downstairs learning environment. This integration encourages reciprocity and the opportunity for chilren to develop their learning alongside each others, sharing a range of skills, and abilities.
